How to Create a Sizer in Baseline
Creating a sizer in Baseline is a straightforward process, essential for integrating your existing loan calculations into the Baseline platform. This guide will take you through the necessary steps to ensure a smooth and efficient setup.
Step 1: Download the Unmodified Sizer
Access the Product in Baseline: Navigate to the specific product in Baseline for which you wish to add a sizer.
Click Edit
Download the Base File: Obtain the unmodified SIZER for your selected product. This base file includes all active fields currently in use in the product.
β οΈ Before proceeding, ensure that all the fields you need for your calculations are active in the product's fields. Missing fields can be added as custom fields when necessary.
Step 2: Copy the Loan Calculator into the Base Sizer
Open Base Sizer and Your Calculator: in preparation for integrating your existing loan calculator.
Copying Process in MS.Excel: Simply click on the sheet containing your loan calculator and create a copy in the Base Sizer.
Step 3: Reference Inputs
Input Fields: All the inputs required for your loan calculator need to be referenced from the βINβ sheet inside the sizer.
Configuring Column C: Specifically, focus on column C of the "IN" sheet. This column should contain all the fields that the system will transmit to Excel for calculation.
Step 4: Linking and Testing
Linking Fields: Ensure that all the necessary fields are linked correctly.
Assign Test Values: Input test values to verify the accuracy of the calculations. This step is crucial to ensure that the sizer operates as expected.
Step 5: Reference Outputs in OUT Sheet
Final Calculations: Once you have completed the calculations in your spreadsheet, proceed to reference these outputs.
Utilize the OUT Sheet: Select the relevant cells (e.g., the loan amount cell) and link them to where your calculations are located in the spreadsheet.
Step 6: Upload into the Loan Product
Save your Base Sizer: Save the file once you have completed the last step.
Upload the new Sizer into the Product: Navigate to the specific product in Baseline for which you wish to add a sizer.
Click Edit
Upload the File.
Step 7: Test the new sizer
You can try your sizer by creating a new quote in the Quotes section.
Step 8: Debugging
Download the Excel to confirm inputs and outputs are correctly mapped.
If no options are visible, go to the product and click edit; at the bottom of the first screen, after the sizer, you will find the Run History. You can download the excel file for you test to debug your calculation
π‘ Tip: If you calculations require FICO Score or experience confirm that the borrower has information in those fields.
Additional Capabilities
Multiple Output Options: The sizer in Baseline allows for the output of multiple options from a single sizer if necessary.
Integration with Quote Builder: These multiple options can be reflected as various choices within the Quote Builder for enhanced flexibility and customer service.
