This guide provides step-by-step instructions for creating and configuring a Broker Role in Baseline.
Brokers are individual contributors who submit loan files but require limited access to the system. Follow these steps to set up permissions tailored to a broker’s needs.
Step 1: Create the Broker Role
Navigate to the Roles and Permissions section in the platform settings.
Click Add New Role and name the role "Broker."
Adjust the default permissions by turning off all features to start with a clean slate.
Step 2: Configure Role Permissions
Enable or disable the following features for the Broker role to ensure limited access:
Dashboard Access
Set to Off:
Brokers don’t require access to the dashboard.
Tasks
Set to Assigned:
Brokers can only view tasks assigned to them.
Borrower Information
Set to On:
Allow brokers to access borrower-related information.Brokers should only see information for loans they are assigned to.
Investors
Set to Off:
Brokers do not need access to investor details.
Vendors
Set to On:
Allow brokers to view vendor details related to their assigned loans.
Quotes
Set to Limited Access:
Enable brokers to generate quotes but restrict their ability to download them.
Pipeline
Set to On:
Allow brokers access to the pipeline to track loan progress.
Servicing
Set to Off:
Brokers do not require access to servicing features.
Payments
Set to Off:
Hide payment-related sections for brokers.
Payouts
Set to Off:
Remove access to payout features.

Change Log
Set to Off: Brokers do not need to view the change log.
Products
Set to Full Access: Allow brokers to see all products in the system.
Step 3: Save the Broker Role
Review the permissions to ensure they align with the broker’s responsibilities.
Click Save and Exit to finalize the role configuration.
Step 4: Assign the Role to a Broker
Go to the Team Members section.
Click Add New User.
Enter the broker’s name and email address.
Assign the "Broker" role to the Individual.
Ensure that the Access → Individual is set to limit visibility to loans and tasks assigned to the broker.
Step 5: Verify Permissions
Log in as the broker to confirm that the permissions are applied correctly.
Ensure that the broker:
Can view and manage assigned loans and tasks.
Cannot access restricted sections like payments, payouts, or servicing.

Use the broker role for external collaborators who only require partial system access.

Permissions can be updated as needed by editing the role in the Roles and Permissions section.
