Overview:
The Roles and Permissions feature in Baseline provides fine-grained control over what users can view, edit, or manage across the system. It allows administrators to create and assign roles, customize permissions for tasks, borrowers, investors, vendors, and other system features, ensuring secure and efficient team management.
Accessing Roles and Permissions:
Navigate to Roles & Permissions:
Go to Company Settings by clicking the name of your company in the sidebar.
Select Roles and Permissions (fourth option in the menu).
Role Management:
Click on an existing role (e.g., "Processor") or create a new role.
Role Name: Modify the role name if needed.
Assign Team Members: Add or remove users from the role using the dropdown menu.
Click the user to add.
Press the "X" next to a user’s name to remove them.

Permission Settings:
For each role, permissions can be toggled on/off or set to specific levels depending on the module. Below is a breakdown of available permissions:

Here’s a detailed breakdown of each setting in Baseline’s permission management.
1. Dashboard Access
Description: Control visibility of the dashboard for users.
Options:
On: Allows users to view and interact with the dashboard.
Off: Hides the dashboard entirely for the user.
2. Tasks
Description: Define task visibility and accessibility.
Options:
All: Users can see all tasks across the organization.
Assigned: Users can only see tasks assigned to them.
Applies To:
Main task area.
Task section within individual loans.
3. Borrower Information
Description: Manage visibility of borrower details.
Options:
On: Full access to borrower details.
Off:
Masks primary borrower information.
Hides the borrower and guarantor tabs.
Turns off the borrower section in the navigation menu.
Note: Document permissions do NOT apply when borrower data is included in document merge tags.
4. Investor Information
Description: Control access to investor data.
Options:
On: Users can view all investor information.
Off:
Redacts all investor details across the system.
Limits visibility within loans, pipeline, and payment modules.

Description: Adjust visibility for vendor details.
Options:
On: Users can view vendor-related data.
Off: Completely hides vendor information across the platform.
6. Quotes
Description: Define access to quote generation tools.
Options:
Full Access: Users can create, generate, and download quotes.
Limited Access: Users can generate quotes but are restricted from downloading the sizer.
Off: No access to quote functionality.
7. Pipeline
Description: Toggle access to the pipeline section.
Options:
On: Users can view and interact with the pipeline, and there are further options by Stage to limit how they can interact with loans in the pipeline.
Read: Users can only view the details of the loan and navigate through the different tabs.
Write: Users have universal access to all capabilities within a loan.
Off: Removes pipeline access.
8. Servicing
Description: Manage access to servicing-related features.
Options:
On: Users can access servicing functionalities.
View Only: Users can only view the details of the loan and navigate through the different tabs.
Off: Restricts servicing visibility and access.
9. Payments
Description: Control access to payment details within loans.
Options:
On: Users can view and interact with payment details.
Off: Hides all payment-related sections.
10. Payouts
Description: Define access to payout details.
Options:
On: Full visibility of payout sections.
Off: Removes access to the payout section entirely.
Note: Investor access is needed to gain access to payouts.
11. Reports
Description: Toggle access to reporting features.
Options:
On: Users can generate and view reports.
Specific: Users are given access to only specific reports as determined by the admin, with a dropdown available to pick the reports.
Off: Hides all reporting functionality.
12. Funds
Description: Manage visibility of funds data.
Options:
On: Full access to funds sections.
Off: Hides all fund-related information.
13. Offerings
Description: Control visibility of offerings.
Options:
On: Full access to offerings.
Off: Removes access to the offerings section.
14. Banking Information
Description: Manage access to banking details.
Options:
On: Users can view banking information within loans and investors.
Off: Hides all banking information.
15. Loan Settings
Description: Toggle access to loan customization settings.
Options:
On: Allows users to edit loan settings.
Off: Restricts access to loan settings and customization of the loan product.
16. Documents
Description: Control access to the document management system.
Options:
Full Access: Users can view, upload, and manage documents.
List Only: Users can upload documents, and can see the titles, but cannot view inside or manage them.
Off: Completely hides document functionality in Borrowers, Investors, and Loans.
17. Generate Documents
Description: Control access to the document generation functionality.
Options:
On: Users can generate and view reports.
Specific: Users are given access to only documents as determined by the admin, with a dropdown available to pick the attributed templates.
Off: Hides all reporting functionality.
18. Communication Module
Description: Manage access to the communication module.
Options:
On: Enables access to inbox and related communication features.
Off: Disables the communication module.
19. Change Log
Description: Control access to the change log for loans.
Options:
On: Users can view the change history within loans.
Off: Restricts access to the change log.
20. Products
Description: Define access to product management tools.
Options:
Full Access: Users can view and edit product portfolios.
Specific: Users can view certain products as determined by the admin.
Off: Completely restricts product portfolio visibility.
21. Credit Report
Description: Control access to pulling, uploading, and generating a credit report.
Options:
Full Access: Users can view and edit all credit report functionalities.
Manual Only: Users can view and upload credit reports, but cannot order one through the third-party integration.
Off: Completely restricts credit report visibility.
22. Loan Notifications
Description: Control access to changing settings for notifications related to loans in the Pipeline and in Servicing.
Options:
On: Manage notification settings for all loans and specific loans and manage notification destinations.
Off: Completely restricts Loan Notifications.
23. Loan Contacts
Description: Control access to contacts within loans in the Pipeline and in Servicing.
Options:
On: Universal access to contacts and contacts details within a loan.
View Only: Users are able to see the contacts in a loan but cannot view inside or edit them.
Off: Completely restricts the Loan Contacts tab.
These settings also follow the user access and functionality within the Baseline
Individual: Users see only borrowers assigned to them.
Member: Users have general access but cannot change assignments.
Admin: Full access to borrower data, including assignments.

Best Practices for Managing Roles and Permissions:
Define Roles Clearly: Align roles with your team’s responsibilities (e.g., "Processor," "Underwriter").

Use Individual access for roles with limited responsibilities.
Use Admin access sparingly to avoid unintended changes.
