Performing actions within loans

Explaining the actions that can be taken within loans

Updated over a year ago

When within a loan in Baseline, we make it easy to perform helpful actions directly from the main view of the loan. The options available to you will differ depending on if your loan is in an origination or servicing status. The specific pieces of functionality available are:

  • Move to Servicing / Rollback from Servicing

  • Share with Funding Partner

  • Archive

  • Duplicate

  • Delete

Move to Servicing (if loan is in Pipeline/Origination)

Once you've approved and closed your loan within your loan pipeline, it's time to move that loan to servicing. After taking this action, the loan will no longer display in the pipeline section, but instead will be located under the 'Origination'>'Loans' section on the left hand side menu.

Rollback from Servicing (if loan is in servicing)

If you need to move your loan back to origination from servicing, for instance, if it was passed over to the servicing team to review before it actually closed, this can be done through the action button. The loan will no longer be accessible from the servicing section, but can be found again in 'Origination'>'Pipeline'.

Share with Funding Partner

If you work with funding partners for some or all of your loans, Baseline gives you the ability to transfer those loans directly to them from within the system. For this functionality to be available to you, both you and your funding partner will need to work out of the baseline system. We will also need to connect your accounts on the backend of the system - please contact [email protected] with details. Once enabled, taking this action on a loan will send it to your funding partner. If they've accepted, you'll also have the ability to transfer ownership of the loan to them from within the loan.

Archive

Archiving is most generally used when you have a loan in your pipeline that you will not be originating, either because you decline to or because your borrower elects to go with another lender. Archiving a loan will remove it from your origination and servicing views, but you'll still have full access to your history of archived loans in the reports section.

Duplicate

If you wish to use an existing loan as a template for a new loan, using the duplicate function will help you achieve this. This will create a new loan with the title of 'copy of (existing loan name)', and will also unlink any payment accounts that are currently connected.

Delete

Deleting a loan will permanently remove it from the Baseline system. This action should only be performed if you want to erase all record of a loan or quote. If this is a loan you are declining to originate, archive is the function you should use.
