Borrower, Investor and Vendors Custom Data Fields

Updated over a year ago

Overview

The Custom Data Fields feature allows users to create, manage, and apply custom fields for borrowers, investors, and vendors within the platform. These fields can capture specific data points relevant to the operations and reporting needs of the company. This guide provides a detailed explanation of how to use this functionality, including adding, editing, and managing custom fields.

Accessing the Custom Data Section

  1. Navigate to Company Settings from anywhere on the platform.

  2. Inside Company Settings, locate the section labeled Custom Data.

  3. The Custom Data section contains four tabs:

    • Product

    • Borrowers

    • Investors

    • Vendors

The Product tab allows you to manage custom fields related to products, while the newly added tabs (Borrowers, Investors, Vendors) enable you to manage fields for these specific entities.

Adding a Custom Field

  1. Go to the desired entity's tab (e.g., Borrowers, Investors, or Vendors).

  2. At the bottom of the table, click Add Custom Field.

  3. Fill in the following details:

    • Field Label: This is the name of the custom field (e.g., "License" or "Tax ID").

    • Field Type: Choose from the following field types:

      • Text

      • Address

      • Dropdown

      • Currency

      • Percentage

      • Email

      • Date

      • Integer

      • Decimal

      • Phone

      • Yes/No

  4. Description: Provide an internal-use description of the custom field. This description is visible only to users with access to the Custom Data section.

Field Usage Options

Once you have created a field, you can determine where it will be applied. There are three options:

  • Individuals Only: The custom field will only be visible when the entity (borrower, investor, or vendor) is an individual.

  • Corporations Only: The custom field will be visible only for corporations.

  • Both Individuals and Corporations: The field will be visible for both individuals and corporate entities.

Managing Custom Fields

Each custom field has management options accessible via the Action Menu (three dots) on the right side of the field entry:

  • Edit Field: Modify the field label, type, or description.

  • Delete Field: Remove the custom field from the system.

Searching Custom Fields

A Search function is available at the top of each entity tab, allowing users to quickly find custom fields by name or type.

  1. Navigate to the profile (e.g., a borrower's profile).

  2. Inside the profile, you will find a section labeled Custom. This section lists all custom fields related to that entity.
