Requesting a Document

How to request a document from your borrower

Updated over 11 months ago

If you have an existing loan application and want to request documentation from your borrowers and guarantors, these are the steps you'll need to follow:

  1. Open the relevant loan

  2. Click on the Documents tab.

    1. The list of documents associated with the loan application is displayed.

  3. From the menu options, click Request.

    1. The request is sent for the desired document to the borrower listed on the loan. Please note, this option will appear and trigger a request to your borrower even on documents where the borrower may not the appropriate source for the document, i.e. documents you'll receive from the title company.

  4. You also have the option to 'Share' with your borrower, rather than request. If you select the share option, your borrower will both receive an email and be able to see the document slot and upload the document in the borrower portal. You can also use this option to share a document for your borrower to see, instead of one you would like them to upload.

    Sharing

    • Click the Share button to generate a link or invite borrowers users to see the document on their portal.

    • Shared documents can be downloaded as PDFs on the Borrower and Investor portals.

πŸ” If Borrowers is a corporation, the corporation must be linked to an individual.
βœ”οΈ The individual must have a verified email before receiving the communication.

Requesting a document when a borrower isn't yet attached to a loan

If you want to request a document from a borrower who isn't yet attached to a loan, you can do this by sending them the borrower signup link or adding them directly as a borrower and then sending them an email invite to the system. Once they're attached to the account, you can navigate to the 'documents' slot on their borrower profile, add any document you wish, and then use the document statuses as normal.
