In Baseline, Documents possess several functionalities that enable you to more efficiently run your lending business.
Document Status
Every document within Baseline has an attached status. This functionality allows you to easily keep track of relevant documentation for your loans, accept or reject specific documents depending on if they serve your needs, and even set expiry dates if you require contemporaneous versions of some documents, i.e. bank statements or credit scores.
To change a document's status in Baseline, navigate to the highlighted status wording located to the left of the download button in the document's header.
Click on whichever status displays, then select your desired status from the dropdown.
You have 5 statuses available:
Pending
Requested
In Review
Accepted
Rejected
Several default status switches will occur in documents.
By default, all document slots without documents added will be in a 'pending' status.
After a document is uploaded, the status will automatically switch to 'In Review' before you select your desired status for the document.
If you use the 'Request' action via the action button in the document, the status will automatically switch to 'Requested'.
Once in 'Review', the view will change with buttons to either accept or reject the document.
βWhen rejecting a document, you can also add a reason for the borrower to view.
Finally, if you add an expiry date to a document, the status will automatically switch to 'expired' on that date - you can read more about this later in this article.
Version History
When entering into a document, by default, you'll see that document's version history in the panel on the right-hand side.
The most recent version of that document will always be selected by default. If you need to review previous versions of the document, you can just simply click on the version you want to view on that right-hand side panel. Baseline retains all documents in perpetuity.

You can perform all of these actions by using the actions menu
Document Info
The Document Info section within a document allows you to see key information about a document, including creation and modification dates. Document info also allows you to attach expiry dates to your documents that will automatically switch your document status to 'expired' to help your origination teams understand a new document is required. To do this, navigate to document info, select the date field, and either enter it or select it with the date picker. The expiry date will automatically save.
Comments
You can add comments to any document in Baseline. To do so, navigate to the comments section on the right-hand side of the document by clicking on the speech bubble containing the ellipsis. From there, enter your comment in the box on the bottom right-hand side and hit enter or post to add your comment. Please note, comments on documents cannot be added or deleted.
